ROULETTE

FIRST INVENTED AS A DESIGN FOR A PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE, ROULETTE GAINED MUCH OF ITS NOTORIETY IN MONTE CARLO. IT’S A WHEEL THAT CONTINUOUSLY SPINS AND ALLOWS PATRONS TO MAKE WAGERS ON NUMBERS THAT CORRESPOND TO ANY OF THE NUMBERS INSIDE THE WHEEL – SOMEWHAT SIMILAR TO SLOT MACHINES OR A SINGLE NUMBER LOTTERY.

Playing Roulette

The Roulette wheel consists of numbers 1-36, alternately coloured red and black, plus 0 and 00 which are green. The dealer spins the Roulette wheel and spins the ball in the opposite direction. To win, you must predict where the ball will come to rest on the Roulette wheel.

Placing your bet

Wagers can be placed on individual numbers or groups of numbers. To bet, place your chips on the numbered table layout. Inside bets are made with non-value chips, which you must purchase from the dealer before placing your bet. Outside bets are made with value chips or non-value chips. Bets can be made until the dealer announces “no more bets.” Once the ball comes to rest, the dealer marks the winning number on the layout and pays all winning bets.
